What is my100plan?

Why do some diet plans, or personal development plans, or spiritual development plans fail after a period of time?

I believe it happens because we focus all our energies into improving this one area of life.  Some big changes, or small steps and phases move us outside the comfort level of our status quo.  However, this focus tends to unbalance us, as the other parts of our life get less attention until finally something interrupts this great new plan we are on.

Some other aspect of our life takes centre stage, and we find it really hard to return to all the great work and effort we spent fixing or improving that one area.  We feel a little lost, upset and defeated.  The next time we are encouraged or begin to think of improving another area creates a feeling of anxiety and reservation as to whether it is worth the effort, and we wonder if it will really make a difference in our life.

This is not to say that any plan or any program does not work.  Or even benefit partially - not in the least.

What I am saying is that when we focus on any one thing, we are likely to not focus on some areas, and focus less on others.

What if we had a plan that looked at every part of our lives, and had a method of giving all our aspects more attention, but spread it out so that more smaller goals can be achieved in our lives, and we can see the difference in measurable ways.

my100plan is my attempt to develop a framework to set a course in changing your life in 100 days.  100 days is enough time to develop routines, adapt changes in lifestyle and see your progress, that maintaining your life will be easier and better that when you started.

This blog is my journal of my personal journey to make changes - to DO, not just think or complain about my life and what I want out of it.  I cannot change everything, and I cannot control everything, but I can do some things.   We spend alot of time thinking and not enough on doing.  I need to change that about myself.  I don't like where I am, and what I am doing.  I like who I am, but I need to figure out and understand how that works out in living my life.

I will spend some time in the next few weeks thinking out loud as to how to establish this framework.   I have some charts, and documents that I am putting together to help me measure progress and keep me on target, that I will be sharing soon.

If you are reading this, you are probably wanting to make a change.  I encourage you to look at your whole life, and think of goals for changing each aspect of your life, and we can journey together on the path to a better quality of life.  Our lives may still encounter great troubles and difficulties beyond our control, but we can control the quality of the life we lead, if we let go and DO.

So, without further ado,  lets begin our journey.

MJD.
